An adventure which can only be described as Authenticity at its very best.

Discover some of the highest, most isolated, coldest, warmest, windiest, spots on earth. Combine is with the most indigenous country in South America and you have a true adventure.

Day 1  

Arrive to Salta

You will be met by a MotoAmigos representative at the airport and then taken  to a beautiful colonial accommodation in the historical city which is known for it’s well preserved Spanish architecture, Andean culture and dramatic landscapes.  After settling in and having a rest, we’ll share our first dinner together.

Day 2 160 km

Salta - Purmamarca 

Beyond Salta and for the next 100km the landscape changes drastically and we now find ourselves riding though a forest like mountain ridge which is abundant with serious motorcycle friendly corners which never seem to end. 

As we approach the 300km mark, the scenery changes again as we reach Argentina’s most colourful town, Purmamarca, which is famous for its Seven Colour Mountain

At dawn, the market stalls that arise around the square start to unfold fabrics and shawls woven of alpaca and sheep wool. The richness of the fabrics may be seen from the weaving, the dyeing and the designs.

Day 3 410 km

Pumamarca - San Pedro de Atacama

Leaving Purmamarca, we take National Route 52 that takes us to the International Jama Pass through the well-known ̈Cuesta de Lipan ̈. Combined with the infinity of the curves of the ̈Cuesta de Lipán”, this landscape is one of the most beautiful natural sceneries in the Argentine Northwest.
Our first stop will be at Las Salinas Grandes (salt flats). Las Salinas Grandes are considered to be the third largest salt lakes in the world, after Uyuni Salt Lake in Bolivia and Arizaro Salt Lake in Salta.

The lovely town of San Pedro de Atacama is located immediately after leaving the customs post.

Day 4 

San Pedro de Atacama

San Pedro de Atacama is considered the archaeological capital of Chile.
Today, you can have the morning off to walk around the town. Early in the afternoon, a private transfer will pick up to take you for a cocktail on the salt flats beside the amazing oasis where you can take a very refreshing swim.

Day 5 520 km

San Pedro - Uyuni 

Today's destination is certainly one of the most exciting of all: El Salar de Uyuni. (Uyuni Salt Flats).
With an area of 12.000km2, and situated in the southwest of Bolivia, Uyuni is the world ́s largest salt flat. It lies at an altitude of 3.700 meters just west of the township of Uyuni and extends like a huge flat white desert.

We stay in a hotel built entirely of salt located on the edge of this enormous Salt Flat. We arrive just in time to come together on the terrace of the hotel to share a drink whilst watching a magnificent Uyuni sunset.

Day 6 

Uyuni

Today we will enjoy riding the Uyuni salt flats.
Surrounded by mountains and volcano's, the dimensions of this vast plain of salt transmits a set of mixed feelings to the riders; surprise, novelty, admiration and enchantment, while our motorcycles glide effortlessly on the shiny hard salt crusts. A silent landscape of salt stretching in all directions bringing the riders to a powerful state of mind; for many an opportunity to experience their lifetime desired to truly feel …freedom!

Lunch will be at Incahuasi Island. Built on the remains of an ancient volcano of petrified limestone, the island hosts a forest of cactus and is located in the middle of the salt flat.

Day 7 240 km

Uyuni - Potosi 

Located at an altitude of 4,070 mts. Above sea level, Potosí is the capital of the department of the same name and it is one of the highest city in the world. We stay at the Hacienda Cayara, located just outside the city.
This amazing hacienda is a real life museum; with original historic pieces of art and furniture that date back to the 15th century. We always book the entire place for our group. That evening we enjoy an Asado (BBQ) which will of course, be accompanied by a good selections of wines.

Day 8 160 km

Potosi - Sucre 

Potosi city was created by miners and continues to be a miner's city today. 

This morning before our ride to the beautiful city of Sucre, we will have the opportunity to go down a mine shaft and see how the local miners work, without adequate lighting or equipment, no gloves, little air, and under extreme conditions.
If you don't suffer claustrophobia or asthma, and dare to, this will be an unforgettable experience. Once you are inside, the miners will come to visit and chat with the group, something they appreciate as it is the only thing that will distract them from their exhausting routine for a few minutes. 

After lunch we'll start our trip to our final destination for the day, Sucre, the Capital of Bolivia (sealed road). Sucre is a beautiful colonial city and is well-known for its lovely churches. Founded in 1540 Sucre has been declared by UNESCO as a Cultural Heritage of Humanity, a living museum of the splendorous lifestyle of the Spanish colonial aristocracy.

Camino de Uyuni a Potosi

Day 9 300 km

Sucre - Camargo 

From Sucre we will back track around 100km before heading south towards the small city of Camargo. On the way to Camargo, we’ll follow some smaller regional roads all in a beautiful setting with some more amazing landscapes.

Day 10 160 km

Camargo - Tarija 

The ride from Camargo is as equally as beautiful as the day before but entering Tarija is stunning. Tarija is as laid-back town, with its palm lined squares, sizzling Argentine barbeques and sprawling bars. Tarija is also surrounded by numerous vineyards which produce some of the best high-altitude wines in South America.

Day 11 210 km

Tarija - Yavi 

Wow, the ride between  Tarijia and Villazon (border town between Bolivia and Argentina)  is something your will remember for a very long time!  Can’t describe it in words and it’s something you need to experience for yourself.  

In the mid-afternoon we’ll cross the border into Argentina and stay in a lovely little village called Yavi.

Day 12 215 km

Yavi - Tilcara

After a unique stay in the tiny indigenous villiage in Yavi, we’ll saddle our bikes and ride through the famous Quebrada de Huamahuaca Canyon. 

Huamahuaca Canyon, in Jujuy Province, was declared World Patrimony of Humanity by the United Nations Organization (UNESCO).

Day 13 175 km 

Tilcara - Salta 

After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll have a 150km ride towards our destination, Salta.  Just enough time for you to reflect on what you have done/seen/felt and experienced over the past two weeks and all those new memories that you will be taking home with you.

Day 14 

Salta 

After a nice relaxing breakfast, we'll get you back to the Salta airport and you'll be on your way home or to your next destination.
